Buy Danish

The request for Americans to buy Danish products is in reaction to a Saudi-backed boycott of them over some political cartoons that appeared in a Danish newspaper.

Other than Danish Havarti (a smooth, creamy cheese that is one of my favorites) and Lego (with three kids, we have so many of this product that I'm thinking of using them to build an addition on to the house) I can't name any Danish imports. So I Googled it. And there at the bottom of the first page was what looked like my best resource - Google Answers: List 100 Danish products? But when I clicked on the link I found "The requested content is no longer available. It has been removed by a Google editor." I checked the cached version and can't figure out what was so offensive about it that led to its removal. Was it an effort to avoid showing a list (although a list of companies/products had not yet been provided) to boycotters? To supporters?

I did find that Denmark is a large exporter of canned ham and pork products. I don't imagine that the boycott will affect those companies but the anti-boycott may.

Do you see any irony in buying swine to support a nation which has offended Islam?

Maybe some Havarti....

BTW - I'm a Swede - and we say there AREN'T 100 Danish products....

Actually, I did buy some havarti but I didn't need much encouragement to do that.

My kids think that this is a good excuse to buy more Legos. (But like me with the cheese, it doesn't take much to get them to want them.)

These drawings are not funny...
Anybody tells "funny" is a liar!
The important thing is the character used is named "Muhammed"...
If they had said -ok, this man is any of terrorists call themself Muslim, but not-...
It could be tolerated.
They should say; "the Prophet is not a terrorist,Himself. He is a sign of mercy of God"

But the terrorists use His name in their work. This is not binding for Muslims an the prophet...

Something was planned to start a dirty play on Muslims..
We love all of the prophets of God. Even all the people -included nonmuslims-. This is what is ordered us by the Prophet. And between others and us "peace" should be established as a first duty..

But this sitution gives a result as "Full List of Islamic Terror Attacks"..
The word "Islam (means: peace)" does not suit with "terror" !!!
I mean that; always someone cause such terrorists (which call themselves muslim) to attack on the others....
They don't have to attack on them!!;
This is not a part of our religion.
You can protest, right!
You can boycott, right!
You can fight for your thoughts in a democratic way!!
You see, they want to get you angry..
They want you to attack as the terrorists do...
This is a part of politics of the developed countries on the non-developed ones. They don't want you to rise up.

Say! that you dislike the way the cartoons tell..
Say! that you want them to apologize!..
Say! I won't make trade with you unless you stop this foolish things.

But don't behave as terrorists... The reaction should be in a democratic way..

If you use His name this means, He and His believers as a whole..

The terrorists can not use His name...

We first should boycott these terrorist.!!

but really,
the Denmark newspaper and the president are in a complicory theory, against Muslim.
They are not kind to us..
they fist on under-pants.

they are as two-faced men.

They act to see the reaction of terrorists.. and, they point on them : "You see Muslims are like that!"

This is a plan to show Muslims are not tolarable, not peaceful, even not human!!:(

This is a dirty mud that they throw....

So....

First thing; Denmark is the first guilty..
Second thing; terrorist are the second guilty..

But Muslims pay the bill!!!
This is not Justice.

Please, Behave as Humans do!
And think about the Day Hereafter!
the Judgement Day!

Serdar's post lets us know just how bad the situation is. When a Muslim such as Serdar, who is supposidly one of the peaceful Muslims, the ones we're told represent the real religion of Islam, when someone such as this equates drawing a cartoon with killing innocent people, including women and children - it shows the true face of Islam. First he calls for peace, but then says that Denmarks guilt is greater than the terrorists. He claims to worry that this is part of some plan to show that Muslims are not peaceful, and is trying to convince us that they are, but then says that Denmarks guilt is greater than the Terrorists guilt.

To Peaceful Muslims: If you are truely peaceful - Show it! Prove it! Don't defend terrorism in any way and speak out against it at all times. Let your voices be heard. But - you are silent. I hear very few that condemn terrorism as it should be condemned. You are so good at orginizing protests, why not protest terrorism? Why haven't we seen that? I honestly think there are so few that really think it's wrong. They think - we'll as long as those women and children were Jews or Americans, those are Infidels, so it's not that wrong. Surely it is much more evil to draw a cartoon than it is to decapitate an innocent human being, or drop granades into a room full of school children. Serdar, how can you possible think that drawing a cartoon is a worse offense than terrorism? Sick.
There are cartoons that mock every religion, every people. People are deeply offended by what others write, say, draw, etc... all the time. You don't see Hindu's, Christians, Jews, etc... rioting around the world when someone offends them, do you? No. Here is a clue for you - let what you believe be between you and your God. As long as Muslims insist on everyone in the world bowing to their beliefs or they will terrorize - they will be seen as uncivilized animals.

I'm not the first to say it, but I still have to say it: We're all Danes now. I'm an American and I am definitely going to buy more Danish products, and I'm asking my friends to do the same.

Re: Uncle Sam's post.
Until proven otherwise, Muslims ARE uncivilized animals. Not a word of protest over beheading innocent people, flying airplanes into towers and killing thousands, blowing themselves up and killing scores of innocent people, and then they burn and riot over CARTOONS. On second thought, maybe they aren't uncivilized. All Muslims who stand by in silence are just as bad as those who do these things. Pity we can't send them all to the moon, where they can live in their 9th century backwards world, and the rest of us will be safe from their violence, hatred and stupidity.

As a Dane I can truly say that Sedar is completely off track. I mean - you can't seriously really believe that Denmark or any person in our country has planned for attacking muslims at all.

The problem is that Muslims always react this way. Needles to say - not all Muslims are terrorists - but why is it that virtually all terrorists are Muslim? Think about it. All Muslim says they are peace lovers - but you cannot find a war in the world today where Muslims are not part of it. And I could go on about the problems with Islam as a religion:

Radicalism
Lack of democracy
Censorship of all kind (SUPPORT THE FREE SPEACH for crying out loud)

Islam is a law religion - this means that the law in Islamic countries has not changed the last 1400 years.

it goes by the wording: Paradoxically enough, only in reforms and change are true security to be found.

So thank you all for supporting Denmark and the free world in this matter.
