"So, do you live around here?"
"Mate, that parrot wouldn't vroom if you put 40,000 volts through it."
"...."
"I've got a slug."
"okay, buh-bye."
If you tried that with my husband (not that he
is in the habit of annoying women on public transportation), he would start doing the sketch with you.
Just watch out for the ones who say you have 'beautiful plumage!'
